Hermes Desktop — GUI Wrapper ที่ทำให้ Hermes Agent คลิกใช้ได้เหมือนเล่นเกม

Chimin (GitHubDaily) แนะนำ Hermes Desktop — GUI wrapper ที่พัฒนาโดย @fathah บน MIT license (ไม่ใช่รุ่นทางการจาก Nous Research) ที่เปลี่ยน Hermes Agent จาก tool บน terminal ให้กลายเป็นแอปที่ setup และใช้งานผ่านหน้าจอกราฟิกได้ทั้งหมด

เป็น Release อย่างเป็นทางการหรือไม่?

ไม่ใช่ Hermes Desktop มาจาก GitHub user ชื่อ @fathah ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์โดยตรงกับ Nous Research ระบุชัดเจนใน Owner และ License information ของ repo

แต่คำว่า “third-party” ไม่ได้แปลว่า “untrustworthy” — @fathah มี public project 156 ตัวและ follower 322 คนบน GitHub เป็น independent developer ที่ active repo ใช้ MIT license และ code เปิดให้ audit ได้

ความสัมพันธ์: Hermes Desktop เรียก Hermes Agent CLI ใต้ hood, ใช้ install script อย่างเป็นทางการของ Hermes ตอน setup และเก็บข้อมูลไว้ที่ ~/.hermes — จริง ๆ แล้วมันคือ Hermes Agent ที่มี interface พาดทับไว้ด้านบน

สรุปสั้น ๆ มันคือdesktop client สำหรับ Hermes Agent การ install, config และ chat ทำผ่าน GUI ทั้งหมด ไม่ต้องจำ command line

Hermes Desktop แก้ปัญหาเดียว — “install Hermes ยากเกินไป”:

• Download แอป → Open → เลือก “Run locally” หรือ “Remote connection” → กรอก API Key → เสร็จ
• ไม่ต้องยุ่งกับ Python 3.11, uv หรือ Git dependency
• ไม่ต้องจำ pip install, ไม่มี environment variable ให้ config
• Install แล้วแค่คลิกเปิดหน้าต่าง chat

สถาปัตยกรรม stack:

You (graphical interface)
  → Hermes Desktop (Electron App)
    → Hermes Agent CLI (installed in ~/.hermes)
      → LLM API (MiniMax / OpenRouter / Nous Portal, etc.)

Desktop app รับผิดชอบเฉพาะ interaction layer ส่วน agent logic จริง ๆ ยังเป็น Hermes Agent CLI ที่ทำ

สิ่งที่ Hermes Desktop ทำได้

Installation Wizard

เมื่อเปิดแอปครั้งแรก มันจะถามว่าต้องการ “run locally” หรือ “connect ไปยัง remote Hermes API server”

• Local mode: ตรวจสอบว่ามี Hermes ติดตั้งแล้วหรือไม่โดยอัตโนมัติ ถ้าไม่มีก็ run install script ทางการ (one-curl command) และจัดการ dependency (Git, uv, Python 3.11+) ให้เอง
• Remote mode: กรอก URL และ API Key ระบบ verify connection แล้วข้าม local install ไปเลย

หน้าต่าง Chat แบบกราฟิก

Output streaming พร้อม tool progress indicator, Markdown rendering และ code highlighting ด้านล่างมี real-time token usage และ cost display (เหมือน /usage command ใน CLI)

22 slash command: รวม /new, /clear, /fast, /web, /browse, /shell, /skills, /model, /memory, /persona, /compact, /debug ฯลฯ คลิกเลือกใน GUI ได้เลย

16 Message Gateway

เป็น core feature ของ Hermes Agent ที่ config ผ่าน CLI ยุ่งยาก Desktop เปลี่ยนการเชื่อม Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Matrix, Email (IMAP/SMTP), Feishu, DingTalk, WeCom ฯลฯ ให้เป็น interface config ที่กรอกแบบ form

ฟีเจอร์อื่น ๆ

• Session Management: SQLite FTS5 full-text search และ history จัดกลุ่มตามเวลา
• Multiple Profiles: สร้าง Hermes environment แยกหลายตัวโดยไม่รบกวนกัน

ใครควรใช้

ดาวน์โหลดที่ hermesagents.cc รองรับ Windows (ต้อง bypass SmartScreen เพราะ unsigned), macOS และ Linux (มี Fedora RPM ด้วย)

ข้อควรระวังบน Windows: installer ไม่ได้ code-signed ครั้งแรกที่ run Windows SmartScreen จะเตือน คลิก “More info” แล้วเลือก “Run anyway”

สรุป

Hermes Desktop ไม่ใช่ “Hermes รุ่นดีกว่า” แต่คือ“Hermes ที่มีกำแพงเข้าใช้ต่ำลง”

ถ้าเคยอยากลอง Hermes Agent มาก่อน แต่ถอยเพราะติดกำแพง command line — แอปนี้คุ้มค่าลองอีกครั้ง Installation wizard จัดการความซับซ้อนทั้งหมดให้ ทำให้ run ได้ภายในไม่กี่คลิก

ในทางกลับกัน ถ้าใช้ Hermes CLI อยู่แล้วอย่างคล่อง แอปนี้จะเป็น overhead เพิ่ม — ทั้งสองเครื่องมือเสริมกัน ไม่ได้แทนกัน
